Character Development (But Make It Real Life)
What if personal growth isn't about becoming someone new, but repeatedly stepping into the version of yourself that already exists? A reflection on identity, nervous system regulation, and living from
When life tries to hit you in a way that you either see through the lenses of expansion or threat, either way, life will always move forward to another chapter of your life. What makes it different is that it’s the secret sauce of self-coding, through which consistent thoughts and emotions are repeated until they become the role that you consciously signed up for.
Welcome back to this channel, where you get to experience any life you’ve wanted by repeating what safety feels like inside your body; perhaps that’s what I’ll call Character Development (but make it real life). /wink/
The one thing I can say when it comes to experiencing the life that you want is to relentlessly show up inside that role through how you think and feel inside every bit and piece of what life is putting you through. The truth is, no matter what is happening through you, the only thing you can do is just show up through the lenses of the role that you repeatedly breathe inside. When I talked about repeatedly stepping into your own skin, it meant you no longer have that source inside your mind through which you once kept yourself alive; rather, you stay inside your body and simply respond in a way that feels like the safest place to be. For example, it could be that you take a quiet moment before you choose to respond, or perhaps you cut that relationship completely from your system because you know that doesn’t serve you anymore. The minute you choose that courageous step over some illusion of what stability is, you immediately jump into that new timeline that is aligned with who you really are.
Living inside of your own life is about that inner coherence of what feels normal for you to see that came across in a way that you are no longer looking but allowing life to just show itself. To get there is to show the new way of living inside your body in terms of how you move, behave, and act through the character that you choose to go all in. “All in” means you stop negotiating with life and start taking that authorship back inside, in a way of building a stronger capacity inside your system. When you are in the stage of longing to experience more, it means you need to start creating a new category inside your body as a mark of “This Is Who I Am Now.” And the most interesting part of becoming a human is someone that you let stay inside your body is changing and moving every time through that constant motion of how you choose to focus on those thoughts and emotions until it becomes the role that you either consciously or unconsciously choose for yourself.
To build this new character of how you want to live through that precise, looking-obvious type of thing that your eyes can start to notice is to be present inside your body and navigate life as someone who sees life like your own oyster. For me, I always love to take myself for a nice long walk to give my body a gentle sense of moving forward, whereas I get to be fully present inside my body, so I somehow get that natural stimulation of that embodiment of how I perceive myself internally. That repetition of how you choose to consistently breathe in through that gesture of moving and acting will continuously change that awareness of who you let stay inside of your body.
The repetition of what you do is what makes this material world feel like a new sense of safety through the sensation that you consciously make for yourselves. It’s the movement of letting your body know that survival is no longer the assignment. Life is not just some specific things that you want to encounter but a full set of inner alignment in every episode that appears the minute you open your eyes to the minute you close them. The whole awareness of who you consciously choose for yourselves until it becomes who you really are. This article is specifically written to create that precise avatar for you to breathe in
The truth about life is that it never tries to hurt or please you but to just have a simple experience as a human being in a way that you can fully perceive and be soaked inside through the lenses of how you want to feel. When you are in that state of safety so much that everything becomes a simple category of each containment state that you can consciously make happen through your external eyes. That containment that I want you to start creating is not going to happen overnight, but through repetition of being fully present with your body in a way that you choose, letting that precise awareness move through you.
The more you can metabolize it for the way it is, the more you will continuously move like a wave to the next stronger containment, and all your thoughts will become the most powerful tool for you to create exactly the life that you want. If you'd like to explore this more deeply, I've created a 1:1 space where we can work through it together.
The next point I want to express here is to keep your nervous system regulated. Which means you most likely can feel internally when your mind has gotten so overstimulated through this modern life that you no longer can sense the real-self version of who you really are anymore. How this modern life that provides a full shipment of attention industry leaves you with a self that only knows how to react, simply because beneath the internal architecture that has been running under overstimulation that you’ve been putting your mind into until it creates some specific meaning-making. The key here is to get a stronger capacity so that your emotions and experiences no longer determine who you really are. That's why I created the Weekly Restoration Letters, a weekly space to help you remember that survival is no longer the assignment and that there is still so much life left to live.
Living inside your human body means you got that privilege of experiencing everything that you want through that consistency and attention that you put through the lenses of moving as “This is what normal should be.” The level of attention that you create internally is so high that the role that becomes permanent stays inside your body, and reality will only reflect that through the role of what your mind wants to perceive. Consequently, life will simply meet you where you are.

For someone so chronically overstimulated by just living, this hits home
